Six interconnected areas driving agroecological transformation in Cameroon
Our work is structured around six interconnected areas of intervention that reinforce each other
We promote sustainable farming practices that enhance soil health and biodiversity. Through Farmer Field Schools, we train smallholder farmers in Integrated Pest Management (IPM), sustainable cassava, cocoa, and plantain production, composting, intercropping, and organic pest control.
Our 7.2-hectare demonstration hub in Tombel showcases integrated Azolla-fish-poultry systems, live fences, and agroforestry models that farmers can replicate on their own land.
We address hunger and improve nutritional outcomes by strengthening local food systems. Our programmes help farmers diversify crops, improve storage and processing, and access markets for their produce.
Through our value chain development initiatives, we support the processing of cassava into garri and flour, and produce high-nutrition health products from moringa, turmeric, and neem — making healthy food accessible while creating income opportunities.
We provide capacity-building programmes for farmers and community members on agroecological practices. Our Farmer Field Schools combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training at our demonstration farms.
We have trained over 300 youth in sustainable agriculture, and our training programmes cover composting, organic pest management, seed saving, integrated farming, beekeeping, and value addition. We also organize exchange visits for farmers to learn from peers across Cameroon and the continent.
Women are at the heart of CAEP's work. We partner with GDA-Yaounde to deliver regional workshops on agroecology, leadership, and economic empowerment. Through exchange visits with peers from Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Congo, women farmers gain new skills and build solidarity networks.
Our programmes specifically target women-led households and ensure women have equal access to training, resources, and decision-making roles within farmer cooperatives.
We execute initiatives that promote sustainable agriculture and community development. Our project portfolio includes integrated farming systems, agroforestry, seed distribution, and women's empowerment programmes.
CAEP has successfully implemented projects funded by the Agroecology Fund (AEF) and Global Greengrants Fund (GGF), demonstrating strong capacity in grant management, M&E, and reporting. Our projects are designed with community participation to ensure relevance and sustainability.
We offer expertise and support to farmers, cooperatives, and organizations on best practices and sustainable methods. Our consultancy services include agroecological farm planning, integrated pest management, organic certification support, and value chain development.
CAEP provides technical assistance to partner organizations, supports the establishment of demonstration farms, and advises on gender-sensitive programme design. Our team brings practical experience from the field combined with knowledge of global best practices.
